CarmaFilm Motion Pictures
The love of cinema
THE JOURNEY:
Since founding CarmaFilm Motion Pictures in 2015, Duaine Carma Roberts has had a vision to change the way film is perceived in both Birmingham and the rest of the UK.
With stories focusing on every day struggles and challenges, our short and feature films have garnered attention across the country and success showing in various film festivals.
RECENT SUCCESS:
In the past few years, we have seen major success from film festivals and award ceremonies. 2020 was a massive year for us, as we saw ourselves nominated for Best Feature Film at the Screen Nation Awards and UK Entertainment Awards for our debut feature film "Angel City"
Our CEO - Duaine Carma Roberts, has also been selected for the BFI Creative Producer School.
Our short film "Black Rose" was nominated for the Atlanta Black Pride Film Festival, Miami Independent Film Festival, The Lift Off Sessions and Screen Culture Film Festival.
Our newest project, a feature film called "Navy" has been selected for the Detroit Black Film Festival and the BIFA/Bafta qualifying British Urban Film Festival. It won Best International Feature Film for the Detroit Black Film Festival and Best Feature Film for the British Urban Film Festival.
